The Social Justice Commission is committed to serving and educating students individuals, families, and communities, both within and outside of the parish community, and to advocate for social justice locally, regionally, nationally and globally.

Catholic Social Teachings

The parish Social Justice Commission will endeavor to provide opportunities for our parishioners  to learn and practice the following Catholic Social Teachings: 

Life and Dignity of the Human Person

Call to Family and Community

Rights and Responsibilities of the Human Person

Option for the Poor and Vulnerable

The Dignity of Work and the Rights of Workers


Care For God's Creations

Current Parish Social Justice Activities

Cafe' Manna: Provide food and company for all those in need every Thursday from 4:30-6:30pm. Contact Kathy Condon at 464-4042 

Food Baskets: Seasonal preparation of Food Baskets For those in need. 

Angel Tree: Providing Christmas presents for children of the poor. 

Service Mission Trips: Yearly trips to help rebuild New Orleans and provide Valparaiso University students opportunities for a Spring Mission Trip. 

Rice Bowl: Fund raiser during Lent for Catholic Relief Services. 

Offering of Letters: Advocacy to Congress on Hunger Issues sponsored by Bread for the World. 

Right to Life: There are participation opportunities throughout the year (Example: Life Chain) and you will be notified through the bulletin, announcements and the website.

Service Mission Trips

Teams of St. Teresa Community members head, most recently, to New Orleans to help rebuild.
