Synod Update

What is a Synod?
A Synod is a gathering of prayer, dialogue, reflection and discernment whose purpose is to live the mission of Jesus with greater fervor and effectiveness.
The synod held in Rome in 2015 to discuss marriage and family, was a Global Synod. Ours is a Diocesan Synod to be held on Pentecost 2017.
In the months leading to the diocesan synod, Bishop Hying has asked St. Teresa of Avila, to join him in reflecting on these eight areas, which are central to our common mission, lifting up our strengths and blessings but also acknowledging the challenges and raising questions and concerns:

Marriage and Family
Sacraments, Prayer and Worship
Young Catholics
Social Teaching
Vocations and Leadership Formation

What can YOU do to make an impact for the future of our Diocese?
Join us on Saturday, October 15, 2016 for table discussions on the above topics
1:00-3:00pm in Avila Hall
Child Care provided

This is open to anyone 15 years of age and older. Come for the Synod, stay for the Feast of St. Teresa of Avila following the 4:00pm Mass.
