Combining Religion and Law Enforcement

Tuesday, February 7, 2012 starting with a small meal at 6:30pm, followed by the guest speaker at 7:00pm.

Chuck Garber is the Assistant Chief of Police at Valparaiso University. Serves on the Indiana District 1 All Hazard Incident Management Team; instructs at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy, and started his Law Enforcement career in 1992. Prior to Valpo, he was a Lake Station Reserve Police Sergeant, the Inland Steel Security Department Captain, and a Steel Mill Manager.

His passion is mentoring today’s youth; he was a Catechist for 8th Grade CCD and Confirmation, a Youth Group Minister, presently the drummer for St. Paul Life Teen Band. He grew up in a large Catholic family, married to Sandy since 1978 and has four children and two grandchildren.  He loves mission trips, fishing, canoeing, and drumming in the Valpo Crusader Band.

Chuck believes by allowing our faith and its journey to be part of our daily work life we truly share the gift of love.

 Christ Renews His Parish

Fr. Kevin McCarthy

I am very excited to announce that our community will be sponsoring two Christ Renews His Parish retreats one each for the men and women of our community. God planted the seed over five years ago and now, under the guidance of the Spirituality Commission, our two weekend retreats are scheduled. I am very excited about this opportunity.

What is Christ Renews His Parish?

Christ Renews His Parish (CRHP, pronounced "Chirp") is a spiritual renewal weekend designed to help individuals grow in their personal relationship with Jesus Christ and with others in their faith community. It is an excellent opportunity for Catholics to renew their understanding of the basic beliefs and traditions of their faith.

CRHP is a process designed to bring members of a parish together in Christ. Just as all of our other commitments need renewal, so does our commitment to Christ if we're to be faithful followers. CRHP is an effective spiritual renewal that calls together members of the parish to experience personal conversion and Christian community within the environment of St. Teresa of Avila.

Men’s Weekend is February 25-26, 2012

Women’s Weekend is March 17-18, 2012

To register for a CRHP weekend, please click here.
